Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL)

Overview

At the end of June 2026, I had the opportunity to participate in the Alliance for American Leadership’s Hill Day in Washington, D.C., serving as a Team Leader alongside a group of dedicated volunteers and interns.

During the event, we met with congressional offices to advocate for the release of previously appropriated foreign assistance funding and to discuss the importance of continued American leadership in supporting global stability and security.

The experience provided valuable firsthand insight into the congressional advocacy process while reinforcing the importance of civic engagement, professional communication, and public service.

My Role

Leadership
As a Team Leader, I helped coordinate volunteers throughout the day, ensuring our group remained organized, informed, and prepared for meetings with congressional offices.

Public Policy Engagement
Meeting directly with congressional staff offered valuable perspective into how constituent organizations communicate policy priorities and how legislative offices receive and evaluate information from advocacy groups.

Professional Communication
Each meeting required concise, respectful, and professional communication. Presenting information clearly while listening to questions and different perspectives reinforced the importance of effective dialogue in public service.

Collaboration
Working alongside volunteers and interns from diverse backgrounds highlighted the value of teamwork and the different perspectives individuals bring to policy discussions.
